Your holiday offers special insight into the treasures of the Iberian peninsula. You will have the chance to explore the numerous walled fortresses, ornate cathedrals, the exotic legacy of Morocco, journey through rugged mountainous terrain, past olive and orange groves. Visit places of religious interest, including Fatima, sample delicious cuisine and wonderful hospitality. Spain and Portugal share a common heritage going back more than 1000 years.
Take in all the sights from the lively city of Madrid, the resort of Costa del Sol, spectacular Granada, and enchanting Lisbon. Join us on an inspiring holiday that offers a wonderful taste of the Iberian Peninsula.

Depart arrival Madrid dinner.
DAY2
Madrid: Arrive in Madrid, Spain, a land of history, beauty, and culture.
DAY3
Madrid: Your full day tour of the city takes you to the Palace Real (Royal Palace), the world-renowned Prado Museum, and the winding streets and alleyways around the Plaza Mayor. Also a visit to San Isidro Cathedral
DAY4
Madrid / Toledo / Cordoba: Travel to the ancient capital of Toledo, Spain痴 most visited city, which is set high above the Tagus River. Toledo is a cultural treasure trove combining Roman, Moorish, Jewish, and Christian customs. Our tour guides you through the varied winding streets, illuminated by magnificent architecture beside the emerald waters of the Tagus River. See the 13th Century Synagogue, the Gothic Cathedral, and El Greco痴 master painting, 典he Burial of Count Orgaz.・Continue south through the countryside of Castilla-La Mancha, and the wine country to Cordoba, the Moor痴 mecca of the west.
DAY5
Cordoba / Granada: First, visit the Mezquita, a unique edifice that has served as both a cathedral and mosque. Tour the old Jewish Quarter, and visit the 14th Century Synagogue there. Continue through the wheatlands and olive groves of the Campina plains. Arrive at the Moors・last stronghold, Granada for the night.
DAY6
Granada / Costa del Sol: Tour the former Moorish capital of Spain, Granada. Liberated in 1492, Granada is a blend of history, beauty, and great architecture. Your tour includes a visit to the Alhambra Palace and the Water Gardens of Generalife, the royal summer residence
DAY7
Costa del Sol / Morocco Option: You can enjoy a free day on the Mediterranean or take an optional trip across the Strait of Gibraltar to North Africa and the Moroccan capital, Rabat.
DAY8
Costa del Sol / Rock of Gibraltar / Seville: A short drive to the spectacular Rock of Gibraltar. Also, your guided tour includes a visit to Michael痴 Cave, the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, the Apes・Den and hopefully a glimpse of the famous Barbary apes. Travel north to Seville
DAY9
Seville / Flamenco Show: Explore Seville and visit the impressive Cathedral that has Melida痴 Monument of Columbus and the mighty Giralda Tower. Your afternoon is free to wander the quaint old Santa Cruz Quarter. Tonight, an authentic Flamenco show with top performers.
DAY10
Seville / Elvas / Lisbon: Travel through farming villages and the beautiful countryside. Stop in Elvas, noted for its working 16th century aqueduct that still supplies the town痴 water. Continue to Lisbon, Portugal痴 capital city for three nights.
DAY11
Lisbon / Sintra / Cascais / Estoril: A full day starts with a tour of the capital city, Lisbon. Your guide will bring to life the great history of the area. Visit the Royal Coach Museum, St. Jeronimo痴 Monastery with the tomb of Vasco da Gama, and the Belem Tower that guards the mouth of the Tagus. This afternoon you will take an excursion to Estoril, Cascais, and Sintra to visit the old royal resort palaces. A short drive to the charming hill town of Sintra, one of the oldest and colorful towns in Portugal. Plus, you will see the Sintra Palace.
DAY12
Fatima / Nazare / Obidos / Fado Show: Travel to the Silver Coast, an area of tremendous beauty that has sleepy villages, ancient castles and unique architecture. Visit Fatima, the world famous pilgrimage center and the Batalha Monastery, noted for its Manueline architecture. Continue to Nazare, a scenic coastal village before going to Obidos, a medieval walled town with whitewashed houses. Tonight Portuguese cuisine and Fado music.
DAY13
Lisbon / Home: Arrive home today filled with fond memories.

SATURDAY THE GOMERA ISLAND
